In which I get pushed, pummeled, and prodded to bring you photos of the Lunar New Year’s Parade (Part II)

February 17, 2008 under: photos

It’s 3:35 am and, as I have a long day of homework to do ahead of me later, I should really go to sleep. But I can’t seem to leave my computer though my eyes are begging for a rest. I just spent the last two hours, that could’ve been spent working on my Business paper, browsing through people’s Flickr albums. It’s so addictive!

When I find an inspiring artist, I browse through the first five pages of his/her album. While looking through the numerous photos, I glimpse the comments, clicking the links of those whose profile picture catch my attention. But before going to that person’s album, I bookmark the album I’m currently on first. And the cycle just keeps continuing.

My creative juices are overflowing! I desperately want to head out the door this instant and take tons of photographs. Unfortunately, weirdos wander about at this hour, so it’s not safe for anybody out there right now, much less a short girl like me. So I’ll have to wait till when I wake up.  I only wish I had the equipment to capture what a point and shoot with a 3x optical zoom cannot. Like the Tampax commercial says, “upgrade!” The idea of spending $500 or more on a DSLR, however, bothers me. After all, that money can buy a lot of other stuff, like I don’t know…textbooks, or clothes (lots and lots of clothes). It’s time like these that I wish I were an art school on a scholarship. They have everything I enjoy for my hobbies - drawing, designing, photography. My only hesitation is in regard to income. I can either have a steady job with a steady income, or the opposite.

Oh wells! So until I win the lottery or find out that I’m heiress to Bill Gates’s fortune, here are more photos from the New Year’s parade that I took with my near-sighted Sony Cybershot DSC-T7.

Little girls riding on their daddy’s shoulders. So adorable I couldn’t resist.

A man on stilts entertaining the crowd.

The dragons

More lion heads, lol

Love this kid’s headgear

Okay — now I’m going to bed. I’m dog tired, and if I don’t catch some shut eye now, I risk losing my eyesight. So goodnight, all!

PS: Excuse any grammatical errors that you may have spotted in this entry. It’s late!
